Until Recently the Indonesian Visa was a paid visa. You would have to get off the plan, fork out 35$ and then go on your way.
Since October 2015, the visa charges have been dropped, now not only is it a visa on arrival but it is free as well!

Getting There

There are several airlines which fly to Bali, but there are no direct flights to the island yet. All the airlines we mention have stops at their respective hubs.

  • Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines is one of our favourite airlines, they have great service, updated planes and generally great experience. All flights to Denpasar(Bali’s Capital) are via Singapore.
  • Malaysian Airlines
Malaysian Airlines has gone through a few rough years, but considering everything they are still a good airline to fly with. Who knows you may even get some great deals! The flights to Denpasar are via Kuala Lumpur.
  • Malindo Airways
Malindo Airways is a low cost carrier. Dont expect the same service as the other two, they really put the budget in budget. As long as you can get from Mumbai to Bali in one piece, it will all be okay!

Bali is known for it’s food and cuisine. Traditional Balinese food is simple and flavourful, it incorporates a lot of fresh vegetables and other ingredients.

The island also has a large amount of european cuisine available as well from some of the best chefs in the world. We would recommend, Ultimos in Seminyak, Potato head bar, Metis for fine dining, Made’s Warung and a ton of others.

Indian Food
Indian Food is available on the island. Either head to Bangles in Nusa Dua for some great North Indian food, or you could try Ganesha ek Sanskriti in Ubud as well. There is a chain called Queen’s Tandoor as well.

Getting Around

Getting Around Bali can be a breeze. There are a variety of options one has to choose from. You could let us arrange all your transfers, just show up and your driver will be waiting for you.

  • Taxis
Bali has no dearth of Taxis but be careful, they normally don’t go by the meter which could be an issue if you haven’t agreed on the prices already. Make sure you only hire Bluebird taxis as they are respectable and reputed. Otherwise please make sure you agree to the price before entering.
  • Bike/Car Rental
The best way to explore Bali is on your own. Just when you think the island can’t get any better, you fins a new beach, or a trail on the side of the road on your way to Ubud. Renting a bike or a car is very easy and inexpensive, petrol is also easily available throughout the island in the form of pumps or locals who bottle and sell it in Nusa Dua and Seminyak.
